Olde Fashion 4th of July

Patriotic Family Fun through Salem Street.  Decorate your bike, wagon, tricycle, or other non-motorized vehicle in patriotic colors to celebrate our nation's independence. The Parade starts at the corner of Salem & Chatham Streets at noon, so be sure to line up early to save your place. Festivities will end with the Apex Fire Department's Splash Down!  Please note:  Helmets are required for the Parade of Wheels.

7th Annual Peak City Pig Fest

Friday and Saturday June 15-16, 2018.  This is a 2 day event filled with BBQ, music and more!  Visit www.peakcitypigfest.com for a schedule of events.

  • FREE family fun BBQ festival

  • Visit the Cook Team area, purchase competition BBQ, or become a People’s Choice judge

  • Proceeds from the event support various charities of the Apex Sunrise Rotary Foundation

The 7th Annual Peak City Pig Fest is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS), the nation’s leading BBQ sanctioning body. Cook teams from all over the country will come to compete against each other for prize money while cooking chicken, ribs, beef brisket and pork. Judging will be conducted by 100% KCBS certified BBQ judges (CBJ) using KCBS Rules. 48 professional BBQ cook teams are expected to enter and compete for a total of more than $12,000 in prize money.

Turkey Trot 5K Run

It is time to chase down that Turkey at Apex Community Park on Saturday, November 21 at 10 a.m. The course will take you through the park and around a scenic lake. Registration is limited to the first 600 individuals and opens on July 1 (the race has filled approximately one month prior to event the last few years). Again this year we will offer a recreational division.

Entries in this division will not receive a timing chip and will not be officially timed, recorded or eligible for awards. Individuals will be responsible for keeping their own time if desired. Everything else will be the same as the competitive entrants including receiving race t-shirt. Awards to top overall male and female and to the top 3 males and females in each age division.

Apex Night Out

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. National Night Out events are held in August nationwide.

We have chosen to do Apex Night Out in October to beat the summer heat. This event is free to the public. The event has safety information and displays as well house games and lots of interactive activities.

Toast & Tunes Concert

Come enjoy an afternoon of music in the vineyard with Island Bob and Cloer Family Vineyards. All you need is a lawn chair and/or a picnic lunch. Wine will be sold by the glass and by the bottle. No outside alcohol is permitted. (Carpooling is encouraged). Bob plays acoustic classic soft rock and country, including songs from Jimmy Buffet, Eric Clapton, John Denver, James Taylor, Zac Brown and much more!
